Hey business leader! How do you connect with your audience? Do you use specific keywords or phrases to capture your audience’s attention? Core values are the principals your brand stands for. They are the soul of your brand.  Think about why you buy from a brand.  Think about what attracts you to it.  We all have things we’re drawn towards and it’s always based on a core feeling.  The reason you’re pulled towards one brand over another is because of core values.  When you’re clear on the core values for your brand and you incorporate them into the way you operate, you’re going to speak directly to the feelings of the people who will buy from you and those you want in your community.

Think about what your goals are with your brand…  Do you want to form more personal connections with clients?  Are you looking to Work with brands that are disrupting industries?  Or are you simply looking to Get referrals that you’re actually excited about?

Defining your core values by honing in on the things that matter most to you and sharing what you’re passionate about, is the first step towards reaching those goals. Consider the common words, phrases, and themes that come to mind when you think about your brand; and also consider what other people that you’ve loved working with say about their experience with your brand. Don’t be afraid to reach out to past clients and netwrok partners you’ve worked with and ask for feedback and testimonials if you haven’t already been doing this.  When you ask people to write reviews, they will often end up using language that you can work into your own messaging, including your core values–the soul of your brand.
