We know there's a lot to think about so here are answers to our most commonly heard questions.

Do you only photograph couples, weddings and boudoir?
No, we also photograph the occasional family or editorial scene, but working with couples and capturing the vulnerability and excitement of love is kind of a sweet spot for us.

Do you travel?
Absolutely!  In fact, the words ‘destination wedding’ are super exciting around here!

Do you help with timelines?
Oh yes we do!  This is a big one, because we want to help you plan your day in order to get the best possible look and light for your photos.

When will I get my photos?
Wedding collections are delivered in 6-8 weeks.  Elopements are delivered in 4-6 weeks. Engagements, lifestyle and boudoir sessions are ready in 2-4 weeks.

How are my photos delivered?
All photos are delivered via a digital online gallery with up to 3 downloads per photo.  Wedding collections receive a USB with two file formats (one formatted for printing and one formatted for social media) in addition to the online gallery. (Here is an example of an online gallery)

Do I have to buy prints through you?
Not at all.  All clients are granted reprint rights so they can print somewhere else, but keep in mind that print and color quality isn’t guaranteed if you print your photos elsewhere.

Do I own the rights to my photos?
This is a pretty common question and it seems to get confused with the true question, which is ‘can I print copies of my photos?’  Crystal Lily Photography owns the rights to all photos so any photographs you receive from us cannot be submitted for publication or re-sold without express written permission from the photographer.  You can however, print as many copies of your photos as you’d like to share with your friends and family.

Do you have insurance?
Yes!  In the event of any accidents we are covered and if your venue needs proof of insurance that’s not a problem at all.

Do you customize wedding packages?
Yes!  We will work with you in any way possible, because we know not everyone is going to fall into a predetermined box so-to-speak.  For example: if you’re having a smaller wedding and want to swap out a second photographer in order to have Crystal stick around a little longer or just to save a little $$ to put towards album upgrades so you can add in more pages and photos, we can totally do that. Don’t want an album at all? That’s okay too! Although we encourage couples to take advantage of albums offered in packages since they’re discounted in the bundle and you should totally have a printed story from your day, we understand if you want the CLP experience, but need to trim the hedges a bit.

I’ve looked at other photographers. Why do some photographers charge a lot more or a lot less than others?
We can’t speak for other photographers without knowing their business model, but we can say that pricing is a big deal when it comes to wanting to offer the best value possible without having to eat ramen noodles for dinner five nights a week (and we’re not talking about the fancy restaurant ramen, we’re talking about the packaged stuff that has become a meme next to Justin Timberlake’s hair from his N’SYNC days, haha!).  It’s important for all of our clients to know that we absolutely LOVE being a part of the important moments no matter how big or small, but this isn’t a hobby.  It is a livelihood and we are so, so lucky to have such an awesome job where people let us hang out and follow them around while documenting their memories.  Keeping insurance for everyone’s peace of mind, equipment to get all of the right shots, software to remove pimples and make everyone look their best, continuing education through workshops and conferences, paying second photographers for wedding days, and taxes—oh the taxes that come with owning a small business, lol!  All of those things are factored into the pricing you see and as much as we would love to be able to work with all budgets, unfortunately the cost of business expenses doesn’t allow us to do that.  Of course it will be a bummer if we can’t work together, but we understand that everyone’s situations are different.

How do I book?
Send us an email or fill out our contact form and someone will get back to you.  We’ll want to schedule a complimentary consultation call to make sure Crystal Lily Photography is in fact the right photographer for you.  We’ll ask some questions to get an understanding of who you are, what you’re looking for, and walk you through our process.  Once your date is selected, a contract will be emailed to you along with an invoice for a retainer.  After the signed contract is received and your retainer is paid, then your date is locked in and we can all do a happy dance!
