Meet Braden Drake, Founder of Not AVG Law. Braden and his team help creatives, business owners, drag artists, and anyone who wants a not-so-average approach to legal and tax services. Braden and I first connected virtually through mutual entrepreneur friends at Launch Your Daydream in early 2019. I was expanding into brand photography and mentoring as Braden was building his law firm when we met in-person at a networking event in Los Angeles (LA) that summer. We instantly hit it off! Later in the year, Braden reached out to ask questions about brand photography and I was eager for the opportunity to work together. We brainstormed ideas and pulled what we needed together for Braden’s first brand photoshoot in LA in February of 2020. As Braden’s business evolved, so did his need for images that aligned with his messaging and offers. Since 2020, Braden and I have worked together on three photoshoots for his brand! Downtown Los Angeles

For Braden’s first brand photoshoot, we focused on foundational images that would support marketing for his podcast and signature program: UnF*ck Your Biz. It was important for Braden to have a mix of detail images, photos of him at work and in community, as well as images that highlighted how his personality informed his brand. Together, we created a range of images for Braden to use on his website and social media channels. I also made sure Braden had images that included space for marketing text overlays that would save him from having to buy stock photos.

San Diego

Braden’s second brand photoshoot built on the foundation of his first, providing refreshed images for his website and social media. By this point, Braden’s brand had expanded since publishing his book: UnF*ck Your Biz and offering new programs. Rather than rent another studio, we staged Braden’s home and office in San Diego to give him images that reflected the space where he runs his business.

Palm Springs

Braden’s third brand photoshoot was a visual color bath compared to the previous two, as Braden sought to appeal to our LGBTQ+ famm. With the backdrop of The Trixie Motel and Chateau Palomino in Palm Springs, Braden and I worked together with four amazing drag queens to create brand photos to highlight Braden’s service Drag Tax, because as Braden says, taxes don’t have to be a drag.
